More about The Ogden Bike Collective and the Bikes for Goodwill program:
The mission of the Bicycle Collective is to promote cycling as an effective and sustainable form of transportation, recreation and as a cornerstone of a cleaner, healthier, and safer society. The Collective provides refurbished bicycles and educational programs to the community, focusing on children and lower-income households.
The bike drive will benefit clients and community partners in our "Bikes for Goodwill" program. This program provides bicycles for free to anyone who can't afford to purchase one. To assess needs, we partner with multiple non-profit and governmental organizations. These organizations refer clients to us, providing OBC their names and heights. We select a bike that will fit them, repair it, and schedule an appointment with each recipient.
Most of these recipients are in a transitional phase and the bicycle helps them get to work or to appointments. With your help, we can ensure that they have the means to keep their bike secure, ride safely, and remain visible when commuting.
The Bike Collective 2021 "Bikes for Goodwill" partner organizations are:
Department of Workforce Services,
Utah State Office of Rehabilitation, Weber Human Services, Tranquility House, Cottages of Hope, Catholic Community Services, Davis Behavioral Health, Roads to Independence, and
Weber Housing Authority
